Seminar Review by Ray Langley

Class Review of Master Joseph Yu's San Francisco 2-day Seminar on Xuan Kong Feng Shui plus 1-day of Live Audits/Readings by Ray Langley. These events were held on October 31 through November 2, 1998.

For those in the class who studied Xuan Kong (Flying Stars) for the first time, this class must have been somewhat overwhelming!

Joseph holds NOTHING back. He stated that his goal was to give us as much valuable information as could be presented in only two days.

I'm not much of a note-taker, but I took more notes than I have ever taken in any other class in my adult life.

Many "secrets" were revealed and we were asked not to discuss some of them in public. The purpose of not discussing these secrets is not to keep them to ourselves, but because they are so different from the mainstream teachings that are available to English speaking audiences.

Many of the principles and methods are contrary to the basic wuxing, or five element theories, that prevail in many English speaking countries. Much of the material that was presented does not appear in any books that are written in the English language. This also includes Joseph's Advanced Correspondence Course. Many of these concepts were from the ancient, original writings of Master Shen Zhu Reng.

Joseph chose to teach at a higher level than some of his other Xuan Kong classes (in my opinion). This seminar could have also been called Water and Mountain Feng Shui.

The class handout materials were rather scant but the oration from Joseph was just phenomenal! My eyes were wide-open and my mouth was agape during several sections.

The principles of the "Divine Water Dragon" and the "Divine Mountain Dragon" were covered in painstaking detail. Just this part, alone, was worth the price of the course. So was the section on calculating the Replacement Star charts.

Those who were unable to stay for the Live Audits day, missed a very special treat. It was very educational and enlightening to watch a Feng Shui Master in action. Joseph comes to a home with only a Lo Pan. He needs no pencil or paper. He carries no fat book full of charts.

The clients had vast differences in their knowledge of Feng Shui. The first family had just finished watching a Lin Yun Video Tape on BTB Feng Shui. The second family were friends of mine that I had known for many years. They had never heard of Feng Shui except for when I had mentioned it, in passing, a couple of times. In fact, when I first approached them about opening their home to a large group of feng shui practitioners, they actually laughed out loud. The third place was the home of a Flying Star Practitioner from a different school.

The end of the day was celebrated with a lavish, scrumptious Chinese Banquet.

BOTTOM LINE: GREAT CLASS!!!

Seminar Review by Charles Younger

Class Review of Master Joseph Yu's San Francisco 2-day Seminar on Xuan Kong Feng Shui plus 1-day of Live Audits/Readings by Charles Younger.

Recently I had the pleasure and good fortune to attend Master Yu's Advanced Xuan Kong class. It was double good fortune because all the costs were underwritten by monies I had earned practicing and teaching Feng Shui.

Master Yu teaches. He shows a path and I struggled, leaped and bounded along the path. It wasn't always easy but the path was always marked with great care. I'm still assimilating what I learned, in truth I know that I learned much that I don't even know I learned. Every day something jogs a memory and a small piece of the puzzle takes shape. Did I learn secrets? It doesn't seem like I did. The way it appears to me was that I had questions answered. Some I still don't know exactly how to ask. Many that I had wondered about and hadn't come to a conclusion. Even more that were just forming. But secrets, no not really, just the next logical step on a long journey.

To use an analogy, this study of Feng Shui is a daunting mountain whose peaks are hidden in a swirling mist, I see a few feet ahead and crawl a ways upwards, I pause catch my breath and look for the next marker. When I look for the summit I miss the markers. When I wish I was at the top I stop climbing. Would I have started out if I had known how far I've come and am still in the foothills? I doubt it. Will I keep going now that I've begun? The view from here is spectacular, it gets better with each step, you bet I'll keep climbing. Will I get to the top, I no longer care. I'll think about that when I run out of markers.

All of which is to say, that if you have an opportunity to study with Master Yu and you choose to be elsewhere, you'll miss a terrific climb.
